Honored, Humbled, Heart-full!

They say time flies when you are having fun and I can attest to the truth of that statement. There was a time that I posted on this site daily. However, that is no longer the case and I was quite surprised to see how long it has actually been since my last one.

As my last few have shared, I’ve added another Facet to my life in the form of becoming a REFIT® Fitness Instructor. I am walking in my calling and could not be more excited and fulfilled.

Since becoming official at my certification training six months ago this month, I’ve found myself in a whirlwind. So much has happened – way beyond my expectations. I’ve created a personal journal for myself that can be found HERE.

Two of those beyond-imagination things that have happened have come in the form of being featured on REFIT® REVOLUTION’s social media platforms.

Below is the unedited questions and answers that was submitted when asked if they could use my story: 

–Why did you start coming to REFIT?

Bottom line…the Lord’s direction! After having lost a significant amount of weight and gaining health and energy, I began enjoying dance again. I grew up passionate about dance from a toddler into my young adult years. However, I allowed obesity and the affects hinder me in pursuing that love. I became stagnate. As I began dropping weight by a true lifestyle change in eating and exercise, I started taking classes at a local gym with another dance fitness program. Very early one morning, I awoke to hearing these words, “Google Christian dance fitness certification.” I didn’t even know there was such a thing, but I was obedient. Up until that moment I had no thoughts of getting certified to teach, although I had taught in my younger years. After being obedient to that instruction from the Lord, I found REFIT® and spent the next week inquiring and researching all things REFIT®. I had a list of questions which were answered by Angela in a conversation. I drove nearly two hours to visit the studio the following week to try a class for myself, since up to that point I had never even seen the choreography. What I left with from that visit was a confirmation in my heart that I was home! I knew REFIT® was for me.

–Why do you teach REFIT?

In addition to being passionate about dance, I have an even greater passion for people. I just love people! Period! I love helping, encouraging, inspiring, teaching people. My calling in life is to help people live happier, healthier and more fulfilled lives. My GREATEST passion is for the Lord and being who He has called me to be and doing what he has called me to do. With teaching REFIT® I am able to combine my loves of the Lord, dance and people all into one. I was created for REFIT® or perhaps REFIT® was created for me!

–What is your absolute favorite part about REFIT?

Oh my goodness…HEART! The heart is so much more than a muscle in REFIT®. I’ve never experienced such a full heart of love for so many different people at one time in all of my life. It starts with the heart of ACE, onto the heart of all the staff members, to the instructor community and to the hearts of my participants. I feel as if we are all one heart! Sometimes after teaching a class, I can’t help but have my eyes leak from the overflowing love that I experienced.

The greatest compliment I’ve ever received came from a participant after a class one night. She wrote these words to me, “YOU inspire ME!!!! Your heart, your passion, your love for people…you just completely inspire me!!!! Your words speak truth! You represent a Jesus we can touch, a Jesus in human form….and sometimes we just need to see Jesus not just with our hearts but with our eyes! Thank you!!!!!”

That is why I REFIT®!
