I’m REGISTERED!
For several months I’ve been tossing around the idea – the thought – of possibly getting certified for a dance fitness program.
Dance has been in my life since the age of 2 ½ when I took my very first class at the local dance studio in our neighborhood. All throughout elementary, junior and senior high school, year after year I participated in classes, dance conventions, performances and recitals. As a teen and as an adult I taught ballet, tap and jazz dance to children and adults and loved it. When I stopped, I looked for dance fitness to fill the void.
That’s when dance fitness first came into the picture and I have taken classes off and on for many years. Jazzercise® was my first experience with a dance fitness program – and I admit, I LOVE Jazzercise! I was even certified as an instructor for a short period of time. Most recently I’ve enjoyed the Zumba® classes offered at my local gym. With attending classes regularly in the last year or so, the consideration as to what it might be like to get certified to instruct Zumba® has popped up. But for some reason, I could never get a “peace” about doing it.
It’s been a few months since the last time the thought crossed my mind.
The week before last…Tuesday, July 28th around 6:30am to be exact, I woke up and immediately the thought came to research dance fitness certifications. As my husband snored beside me, I picked up my phone and googled dance fitness certifications and looked over the list. I then looked up Christian dance fitness and a few popped up. I read through and looked over each one. But one in particular of all the programs that appeared in both searches stood out to me. It’s a program called REFIT® REVOLUTION.
After a week of completely immersing myself in online research, YouTube videos, “stalking” the founders on social media and driving 3.5 hours roundtrip to attend a class with them, I’ve made my decision…
I’m joining the REFIT® family and I’m very excited about doing so!
While attending my first REFIT® class I was summoned on the platform by Founder and CEO, Angela. I have to admit, it was fun!
I’m Registered, and therefore Officially Unofficial!
I will be attending an Instructor Certification and their very first Instructor Convention (called RECON) in October. As soon as I’m Officially Official, my first class will be in the form of a REFIT® Party for all my local friends who’d like to attend for an evening of fun, friends, sweat and songs as we dance our way into a fitness frenzy. (This will be a way for me to do a trial run, practice class with those who know and love me. Yes, I’m needing guinea pigs!)
If you’d like to be kept up to date on the process and progress, please connect with me on my REFIT® with DEBBI Facebook page. Be sure to “like” the page so you will receive the updates as I post them. I’ll also share other info on the page such as nutrition suggestions, tips for weight loss, inspiration and motivation, etc. For those who have followed me for a while, you know I dropped a significant amount of weight last year (and have successfully maintained that loss for nearly a year now) and am in the best health and shape of my life – not to mention have more energy and feel better than I can ever remember! If I can do it, anyone can! (For more info on what I did, you can click the No More Weighting tab at the top of the page for posts regarding my loss.)
Although I taught dance many years ago and have been a dance fitness instructor in past, this is a new adventure for me and I appreciate and can use all of the encouragement I can muster, so thank you in advance for the support!
I will be sure to post here and let you all know when I’m Officially Official.
BE: Happy, Healthy, Whole!
