Lighting the Lighthouse

Experimenting with Photoshop today, I decided to play with this photo.

The first photo is the straight out of camera image. You will notice the object to the far left, the antenna next to the lighthouse as well as the clear blue sky. My composition wasn’t very interesting as I recall something being to the right that I was working to avoid.

After taking it into Lightroom, cropping and tweaking the colors, it went to Photoshop to remove the unwanted items. The colors were beautiful and the lighthouse peering above the trees was an interesting subject (especially considering this was over a very small lake) – however, there was something missing.

Adding clouds and a lens flare seemed to add more interest to the photo, in my opinion.

What is yours?
