Do you need something extra in your life right now? Maybe it’s an answer to prayer, direction, finances, something on a social level, etc. It could be anything!
Perhaps you’ve been “living right” and asking God for these things. Maybe you’ve been hoping or wishing. But I want to show you something in the scriptures that could be the answer you are looking for. (If this doesn’t pertain to you and you ARE DOING what the Word says in regard to this scripture, then just hold tight…it’s coming. God’s Word doesn’t lie and it’s just a matter of time. Expect it when you least expect it.)
The Message version of Malachi 3: 6-11 tells us:
6-7“I am God—yes, I Am. I haven’t changed. And because I haven’t changed, you, the descendants of Jacob, haven’t been destroyed. You have a long history of ignoring my commands. You haven’t done a thing I’ve told you. Return to me so I can return to you,” says God-of-the-Angel-Armies.
“You ask, ‘But how do we return?’
8-11“Begin by being honest. Do honest people rob God? But you rob me day after day.
“You ask, ‘How have we robbed you?’
“The tithe and the offering—that’s how! And now you’re under a curse —the whole lot of you—because you’re robbing me. Bring your full tithe to the Temple treasury so there will be ample provisions in my Temple…
HERE’s THE DARE: Test me in this
and NOW THE DOUBLE-DOG-DARE: …see if I don’t open up heaven itself to you
WHAT HE WILL PROVE TO YOU: …and pour out blessings beyond your wildest dreams. For my part, I will defend you against marauders, protect your wheat fields and vegetable gardens against plunderers.”
His promise is that He will give you above and beyond what you need. Even more than you can imagine!
A maurauder is someone who steals, raids, robs, intrudes. God says He will defend you against those who would try to steal from you, keep you from promotion, rob what belongs to you, intrude in your space.
He also says he will protect your wheat fields and vegetable gardens against plunderers. Oh, you don’t have wheat fields and vegetable gardens? Well, silly, you don’t have to physically have those things, but what do they represent? They represent provision, food, finances, jobs, friends, a spouse, needs met, nutrition, health, healing and well-being, whatever it is that you need!
So God says, “I dare you, I double-dog-dare you to see if I won’t keep My promise to you if you will do this one thing: don’t rob Me. Give Me what belongs to Me…the tithe and offering. The first tenth of your time, your finances, of YOU. Give Me an offering of YOU! Test Me – I dare you!”
If you will do what the scriptures say, you can be resting in the Promise just like Lucy is resting in knowing that I will take care of her and provide her every need.
Test Him. Give Him your first. Give Him an offering of YOU. Spend time with Him. Get to really know Him. Take Him up on His dare, then rest.
Have a wonderful day!
