In keeping with the series I’ve been sharing this week. this week’s FotoFriday52 continues on with the theme of the old schoolhouse trail. Of all the old schoolhouses we discovered, this was the most well-kept one that is not currently being used for something – the old Alice School.
In addition to being a unique design, compared to the others we found, it also was in the most interesting location. On a wide open field just yards from the highway. Very flat land, out in the open with cattle grazing not far in the distance. The condition was such that it could have been used for church services, community meetings or some other gathering until recently. However, the lock on the door and a few other clues informed us that it, too, was abandoned.
Be sure to come back tomorrow as I share the next schoolhouse, and one that IS currently being used.
